Dr Michael McNamara MD
Dr. McNamara grew up in the United States, the son of an Irish-American father and Japanese mother. His is a naturalized Monaco citizen.
He completed his university and medical studies at the University of Michigan, followed by an internship in surgery in San Diego, California, and specialization in Radiology and Advanced Heart Scanning at the University of California San Francisco.
In 1986 he was recruited to create the first European hospital based Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanning facility at the Princess Grace Hospital of Monaco, where he remained as Chief of Department until 2003.
He then founded Monte-Carlo LifeCheck®, the first facility in Europe to perform preventive medicine check-ups utilizing the most sophisticated three-dimensional Total Body Scanning technology.
Dr. McNamara has written a textbook on MRI scanning of the body, authored or co-authored 79 scientific papers and book chapters and has delivered 159 medical scanning and heart disease lectures around the world.
