2006 - Photodynamic (PDT) and Sonodynamic (SDT) Therapy
An important Adjunct to life extention/antiageing strategies.
All Anti-Ageing/Life Extension programmes have a weak point in relationship
to cancer. Destroying abnormal cells using Photodynamic and Sonodynamic
Therapy on a 2-3 yearly basis, is a safe and effective prophylactic
approach in terms of cancer and atherosclerocis and would support any
life extension programme.
Photodynamic Therapy is the use of light sensitive substances that
cumulate selectively in cancer cells and when exposed to light of an
appropriate wavelength, causes an excited state, which transfers its
energy to oxygen. The oxygen then becomes highly reactive in cancer
cells and also in atherosclerocis deposits inside arteries. This then
destroys these abnormal cells by necrosis. Sonodynamic Therapy is the
use of an agent that is also sensitive to ultrasound, allowing deeper
penetration of the effect of destroying abnormal cells.
